CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT
INVITATION: 52ND - ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE NIGERIAN ECONOMIC SOCIETY
The President and Executive Council of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), hereby invite you to the forthcoming 52nd - Annual Conference of the Society, which will take place between the 13th and 15th of September 2011, Covenant University, Canaan Land (Winners), KM 10, Idiroko Road, Ota, Ogun State.
The theme of the Conference is: "Planning and the Transformation of the Nigerian Economy".
The conference is expected to produce insights, ideas, strategies and policy options that could help the Nigerian government and the private sector in partnering towards achieving real and sustained economic development through effective policy formulation and implementation. To this end, we have invited scholars, policy makers (at the various tiers of Government), as well as business and finance experts from Nigeria and abroad to present papers at the plenary and concurrent sessions. In addition, industrialists and those interested in Nigeria's economic development will participate. Thereafter, policy recommendations will be made to government in the form of a policy memo.
The following fees are payable, to enable participation:
- Conference Registration: N20,000.00 (includes conference materials, and refreshment)
- Postgraduate Students Registration - N5,000
- Annual Dues -
- Full Members: N5,000.00
- Associate Members: N3,000.00
Non-members are encouraged to pick up membership registration forms to join the Society, when registering for the conference. The financial implications per category are:

Note: Eligibility for full membership registration is a minimum of five years post- first degree qualification in any of the following disciplines: economics, statistics, the social sciences, banking and finance. Graduates of less than five years are to register as associate members. Institutional membership is for corporate organizations.
